BlueGrass Baby with the Thumbsucking Blues...

Kate and Sam both love all music and can't keep themselves from dancing no matter where or what we are doing. Whenever the rhythm strikes they both just start bobbing around. Here is a quick video of Kate dancing to some bluegrass music while driving her car and sucking her thumb. I hope they both grow up appreciating music and find much joy in its beauty!!

Sink Time for Two

Whatever Sam is doing you can be sure that Kate is right behind...She is keeping up quite nicely these days and Sam is "teaching" Kate all sorts of new activities, especially the art of washing hands and getting a little cup of water to drink. I don't know what it is about water, but it can entertain for hours. We have a water activity table in the garage (staying out of the afternoon sun these days) that they will stand and play in a long time:) Sam's latest stall tactic at night is "one more glass of water", so we have implemented a small shot glass of water in the bathroom right before hitting the bed and it seems to stop the whining after the lights go out. I love that their independence shines through and that they seem to be enjoying each other so much.

We love our little munchkins so much and are reminded every day just how precious they are.

Sam's Relaxed Bathtime...Add Katie=SplashFest

Ok...so these pictures really don't do justice to the remarkable difference between our children's bathtime rituals, but they are cute anyway. Sam loves to relax in the bubbles, fill up a cup or two of water and just simply "swim" in the tub, while Katie can't wait to see how high she can splash the water and to see who gets more wet, whomever is bathing her or her. It is definitely a toss up. Sam has really just given up to the idea of any peace while Kate is in the tub with him. He just waits until we can bathe her and get her out so he can get back to calm waters. They are super fun these days to watch interact and really adore each other. Just yesterday I couldn't find them, but I knew they had to be near because I could hear their little voices laughing. I finally made it down the hall to our bedroom and there they were...little feet peeking out from under the curtains. They were obviously hiding and I just stood there listening to the sweet little chitter chatter and them making themselves crack up!! These are the moments I love!! Well, we hope everyone is well and had a great weekend...more to come later!

Happy Independence Day!

We had a great weekend at the lake with my parents while celebrating Independence Day!! We napped, shot fireworks, twirled sparklers, ate watermelon, went to a "butt" roast (pig pickin'), road in the boat, went fishing & Rob went skiing!! The weather was tremendous and probably the coolest July 4th I can remember in a long time. We even got to experience a late night thunderstorm which I love!! Here are some shots from the weekend's festivities...

Sam and Kate showing a little patriotism!!
Sam digging his face in the watermelon...and we

wonder why when one gets sick we ALL get sick?
