New Spin on Thigh High Boots

Sam discovered my black boots in my closet the other day and thought he would give them a spin! It was hysterical watching him keeping his balance and maneuvering around the house. He is quite the character these days with dressing up being one of his favorite activities!!

Kate's First Bow

Hallelujah!!! Kate has finally gotten enough hair to put a bow in and she actually will allow it to stay in for more than 2 minutes. This is really big deal, because she has fought anything being on or near her head since the day she was born. Her hair is super fine and so blonde that we do have trouble keeping the bows in, but it is a start people:) Thrilled for this milestone!!

Children's Museum Fun!!

We had a full day at the new Children's Museum with Bebe and Nana! It is truly a beautiful place with so much for the kids to enjoy and explore. It is however extremely cost prohibitive...couldn't believe it. Anyway, the kids had so much fun. Here are a few pics from our trip.

My Sweet Babes Off to First Day of School

Sam and Kate are both going to "school" two days a week from 8:15-12:20 and man my house is quiet...I can only imagine the withdrawal I will go through when they go to kindergarten. Now, I didn't say I wasn't enjoying the quiet and the ability to go grocery shopping all alone, but it is weird having them both gone. They seem to be enjoying their teachers and loving making new friends, and for that I am so grateful. Here is the picture of their first day:) They sure do know how to make a mama proud!

From Mullet to Marvelous!!

So, the first haircut for Kate was last week and for those of you who have seen or touched Kate's hair or lack there of, it is thin, wispy and a little on the "old man" side of things. Ok...it is appropriate to say "Bless her heart" right about now! She does get this straggly hair honestly as I was 3 before my mom could even comb my hair. Nonetheless, we did decide it was time to trim the ends and get rid of her fabulous mullet. We started talking about it about a week or so before and she seemed very excited, but unfortunately her stranger anxiety is at an all time high right now and she doesn't want anybody to be near her other than me or daddy. We arrived at Jelly Beans ( children's hair cuttery) and she was fine for the first 45 seconds so I snapped a few pics of her while she wasn't hysterical. After these shots it really got bad...not to be to graphic, but she got so upset that she actually got a little sick all over her shirt. Ahhhhhhh.........The end result was great however and we did manage to get a semi-straight cut across the back:) It looks much healthier and now we are going to start feeding her hair growth vitamins...jk.
The next haircut may be done while she is sleeping!!!

Just a Taste of What's Been Going on...

Last Saturday the group of women I meet with on Mondays (AM2PM...Affirming and Mentoring Pre-School Moms) had a family picnic. We thought the weather wasn't going to hold out for us, but it did and it turned out to be a lovely evening eating yummy food, beautiful scenery and to top it off HORSES!! The kids loved the horses and were mesmerized with petting them and feeding them grass. Sandra, one of the mentors of our group, was kind enough to open up her home in Taylors where all this wondrous fellowship took place. It was truly one of the most beautiful views of the mountains I have seen. Sam even got to sit upon the John Deere tractor, which made his day!

For Mother's Day we took a trip to Westminster to hang with Rob's family. My sister in law Deanna hosted lunch at her home and it was fantastic!! What a great way to spend Mother's Day! The day was clear and beautiful and the company was fun as always. Rob has a much larger family than I do, so I always enjoy the fellowship and closeness that comes along with a big family! It was a special day, just in the fact that I got to spend it with my sweet kids who always make me laugh and remind me how special it is to be a MOM!!

On last Saturday morning we went to a birthday party extravaganza right here in our neighborhood. I call it an extravaganza, because it was just that. We were celebrating Trey and Jerod's birthdays together and they had a jump house, cotton candy, popcorn, a balloon making clown and then the icecream truck rolled up!! The kids loved it and were quite exhausted which made for a great nap for all of us!! Thanks Tera and Dana for including us in the festivities!
